How to Score a Designer Bag for Less
Do you ever think, 'I would love one of those designer bags, but that price tag is just not justifiable?'
Well, then you're in luck because today I'm going to share my top 5 ways for scoring designer goods for less, and in some cases, MUCH less!
I'm not going to suggest that you go to a flea market that sells knock off bags or ones that might have "fallen off the truck." I'm also not going to say that I have shopped at said establishments once or twice in my lifetime.
What I am going to share are perfectly legal ways to save when searching for that perfect designer piece to add to your collection whether it be shoes, bags, or clothing.
1. Outlet Stores - This is really TWO tips in one because for one, outlet stores have more bargains to begin with, but what you may not realize is that if you go to the back of the store, sometimes you can find extra bargains on prints or styles that are retired or retiring. This means that the company is no longer going to be making those items in that color or style, so they are often discounted by about 30% or more!
2. Consignment Stores - Typically, these stores sell secondhand items on behalf of the former owner and give that former owner a percentage of the profits. But there are many consignment shops such as Chic Boutique Consignments that specialize in designer clothing and accessories. They will often carefully inspect the items to assure that they are providing quality goods for their customers but at a very discounted price.
3. Thred Up - This is an online consignment and thrift shop that offers high quality goods at extremely discounted prices. You can also trade in some of your own clothing and accessories in exchange for credit for shopping or cash or donation to charity.
4. eBay - I'm sure most of you know about this one already, but I figured it was worth mentioning in case you hadn't already thought of it! With the 'buy it now' feature, you can even skip the stress of trying to out-bid others who are vying for the same designer piece as you!
5. Finally, Facebook Marketplace and local Facebook Yard Sale groups offer yet another way to score discounted goods. Now, you must be careful about quality since it is not sold by a registered business, but it is still a great way to get secondhand accessories on the cheap!
If you think of other ways to get your hands on discounted designer goods, drop them in the comments below!
