The Un-sung Heroes of Skincare
By now I've sure your social media feeds have been flooded with the importance of proper skincare. And I'm sure EVERYONE has the BEST skincare to recommend. Does this sound familiar?
Of course it does, and you know what? Your friends are right! I always tell my beauty clients that the first step toward a perfect makeup look is healthy skin! Makes sense, right? The less you have to cover, the more natural you'll look in whatever type of makeup you like to rock day or night!
In a way, I guess I'm going to add to your skincare inundation here for a second because it really does go beyond a good cleanser and moisturizer. Do you have to peel charcoal off your face to achieve a healthy glow?
No! In fact, please don't do that!
But if you think about it like other healthy habits -- healthy dieting and exercising -- you should see that just doing the bare minimum here and there won't exactly give you the results you're looking for. That's why so many skincare companies are now selling complete regimens -- to encourage the full process is completed to correct your skin's natural woes.
This is all well and good, but my biggest issue with some of these regimens is that my skin doesn't fall into one category. And I can't be the only one who feels this way, which is why SeneGence has decided to offer skincare regimens that their customers build and personalize with the help of their consultants (distributors). Before I dive in, I have to preface this part with the fact that I used to be the girl who thought using a makeup remover wipe at night was 'skincare.' So you can imagine my surprise when I started hearing about all of these different products. And as a mom of two toddler boys and 3 rescue pups, I thought to myself, 'Okay, that's great. But I do not have time to use all of these products.' But as I started to watch other girls' skin improve, I decided to give it a try. After all, I may not have time to exercise or make healthy meals, but you can bet that I MAKE time to take care of myself in that way, so this should be no different, right?
Okay, okay. Back to the products.
First up, Nangai Oil. It's cold pressed from the nut of the Nangai tree found on the Island of Vanuatu (an island that ONLY SeneGence can use natural resources from -- cool, right? Or maybe hot? It does have a volcano, after all!). This golden oil is anti-inflammatory (great for cracking or flaking skin), anti-aging and super moisturizing (due to its moisture-enhancing triglycerides). Best part? It absorbs quickly so that your skin is moisturized but not greasy!
Next in this all-star lineup is SeneSerum C. This product contains both anti-aging and urbanization defense mechanisms. It also contains Vitamin C that is suspended so that it is only activated upon application. Did you know that Vitamin C in a water base is no longer active? As my chemist hubby explained, it is because Vitamin C is water-soluble. SeneGence has created a technology in which the Vitamin C is stabilized until YOU are ready for it to be active and used to help repair damaged skin cells and prevent further damage!
Third is Climate Control. This is what consultants refer to as 'liquid gold.' It does exactly what it suggests -- helps to control the climate of your skin, regardless of your skin type!
